EMCOR Group, Inc. Announces New Transportation Project Awards

NORWALK, CONNECTICUT, December 10, 2007 - EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE: EME), a Fortune 500® leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses globally, announced a number of new transportation related contracts that it had been awarded across the country.

By building and supporting technical electrical and mechanical systems that are an integral part of the infrastructure for airports, bridges, highways, rail, traffic control, and street lighting, EMCOR's work in the transportation sector brings together aspects of its industry leading capabilities and provides long-term solutions for sophisticated operations and systems.

EMCOR's recent project awards in the transportation sector include:

New York City Department Of Transportation (New York City) -   EMCOR subsidiary Welsbach Electric is responsible for the complete electrical rehabilitation of the Roosevelt Island Lift Span Bridge, the only vehicular link to Roosevelt Island in New York City. The project requires the installation of new switchgear, submarine cables, bridge control system, traffic control system, navigation lights and a backup generator.

O'Hare North Airfield (Chicago, IL) - Gibson Electric, an EMCOR subsidiary, is handling the fiber optic loop system installation in buildings, towers and ductbanks associated with the O'Hare Modernization Program at O'Hare Airport in Chicago.  The project consists of construction of two new remote transmitter receiver sites for the FAA, construction of a new North Airfield Airport Surveillance radar system, construction of new duct banks at various locations for routing over 220,000 feet of fiber-optic transmission line, and connection and testing of the new fiber-optic transmission system.

Golden State Freeway Automated Traffic Surveillance and Control Project (Los Angeles, CA) - EMCOR subsidiary Dynalectric is responsible for the replacement in Los Angeles of signal controllers and the installation of conduit, fiber optic cable, video cameras and poles, pavement embedded loop detectors, and video and data communication equipment from the 118 Freeway to the 210 Freeway in Los Angeles.  Some intersections require replacement or additions to traffic signals, vehicle and pedestrian heads and actuation loops that are intended to enhance the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

Fresno Yosemite International Airport Rental Car Facility (Fresno, CA) - Contra Costa Electric, an EMCOR subsidiary, is responsible for the electrical work related to the new construction of an airport rental car facility at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport.  Scope for work includes underground conduit for future security and preferred customer booths, site lighting, walkway canopy lighting, and all other electrical panels required. 

Utah Transit Authority Commuter Rail (Salt Lake City, UT) - EMCOR subsidiary Wasatch Electric is responsible for the electrical work on all stations (a total of nine) involved in the first, northern segment of a multi year project to construct a heavy, 90 mile commuter rail along the Wasatch front, running from Salt Lake City north to Ogden, Utah.
