The University of New Hampshire Durham campus, with some 13,000 students, tapped EMCOR to design/build, install, start up and operate a new 8 megawatt (expandable to 27 megawatts) cogeneration plant addition to its existing steam plant and regional chilled water plants to maximize its energy efficiency.
The client is also entrusting EMCOR with the cogeneration plant operations, campus sustainable maintenance, energy efficiency management and consulting, and sustainable construction management services.
The university depends on the new green facility to ensure reliability and flexibility to meet changing energy needs over time while meeting all applicable state, local and federal energy and building compliance requirements.
