Rex is responsible for EMCOR Group’s property & casualty risk management and insurance programs worldwide. Rex heads up the Risk Management Department working with a team of dedicated EMCOR employees and business partners to achieve results, deliver value, and provide high quality construction services, facilities maintenance, and energy solutions.

Optimizing these programs, mitigating risks and controlling costs are important value drivers for EMCOR’s customers, employees and shareholders. Rex likes to point out that it is the technical prowess of the EMCOR operating companies, coupled with their strong performance in safety, quality and risk management, that provides valuable support to Rex and his team in optimizing EMCOR’s risk programs.

Expertise

Rex has over 20 years of experience in the insurance, brokerage and risk management field. He joined EMCOR in 1990 and previously held positions in the insurance industry with broker Bayly, Martin & Faye and insurers Aetna Casualty & Surety, and Liberty Mutual.

Rex and the department members work with the property & casualty risks of all EMCOR operating companies, including General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Automobile Liability, Property, Installation/Builder’s Risk, Umbrella and specialty areas.

Department members average more than fifteen years of experience in their respective fields and this expertise drives success in core functional areas to ensure that: (1) Risks are identified, reviewed and managed; (2) Risk-transfer via insurance is secured at appropriate levels of coverage and cost;  (3) Risks and claims are managed to achieve optimum outcomes;  (4) The cost of risk is billed to each EMCOR operating company based on its unique claim history, risk profile and performance.

Rex and the team also provide training, procedures and support services to the EMCOR operating companies for pre-bid risk assessment, contract insurance specifications, subcontractor insurance, and related risk management topics.

Rex holds a bachelor’s degree from Clark University in Massachusetts and is a member of the Fairfield County chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society. He maintains an interest in risk management institutions and forums that support the field.

The Personal Side

Rex enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and participating in community activities.  For recreation he enjoys music, physical fitness, skiing, and amusing efforts at golf.
