Value Delivered

Donald oversees the company's commitment to helping clients reduce their energy consumption and its associated environmental impact. Backed by his practical experience in engineering, installing and commissioning high-performance HVAC systems, Donald identifies and implements projects that truly "make sense" for a client's business. By carefully considering a project's immediate and long-term viability, he can make recommendations that enable clients to overcome their short-term hurdles and achieve their long-range business goals. Furthermore, as one of the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC's) LEED-accredited professionals, he can provide substantial 'green-building' expertise.

Expertise
During his career, Donald has been extensively involved in engineering, installing and commissioning HVAC systems in a variety of applications, including pharmaceutical manufacturing sites, laboratories, chemical plants and commercial office space. His involvement in each phase of the design/ build project delivery model - conceptual engineering and analysis, commissioning plan development and execution, construction documentation preparation and/or construction management - has made him an expert in identifying and implementing sound, practical solutions.

Before taking his current position, Donald was a senior project engineer and commissioning group leader. In this position, he was responsible for weighing such factors as functionality, initial costs, energy usage and ongoing maintenance, and then engineering the "right" client solution.

Donald has published articles on a variety of technical topics, including green building, practical energy evaluations, indoor environmental quality, air filtration performance, optimizing centralized chilled water plants, and airflow measurement and adjustment. He continues to present classes on how to reduce energy consumption with existing HVAC systems. He also develops internal standards for both engineering and systems commissioning.

Donald holds a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University and is a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey, New York and Texas. The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) has established his professional engineering record and designated him a model law engineer. The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) has certified him as an energy manager, and the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) has certified him as a testing and balancing supervisor (air and hydronics) and as a building systems commissioning administrator. The National Society of Professional Engineers recently identified him as a rising leader in the engineering industry.

His professional memberships include the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the New Jersey Green Building Council, the AEE, the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the International Code Council (ICC) and the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. He is currently president of the board of directors for the Mid-Atlantic Environmental Balancing Association (MAEBA).
