Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Accreditation---

 

MARTINEZ, CA – March 27, 2006 – Ray Robertson, P.E., Chief Electrical Engineer with Contra Costa Electric, has received accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) professional.

The LEED professional accreditation program is rigorous, requiring participants to satisfy a number of criteria covering a wide range of sustainable construction and development issues.  Accreditation identifies individuals who have the necessary knowledge and skills to participate in the green design process, support and encourage integrated design, and streamline the LEED application and certification process for buildings.  The certification process for buildings uses the LEED Green Building Rating SystemÔ, a consensus-based national green building standard for the construction industry.

 

Mr. Robertson’s accreditation is part of the Company-wide program announced by EMCOR last year whereby all key personnel, coast-to-coast will become accredited under the guidelines of USGBC’s LEED program.   With 75% of the LEED certification points related to the type of work that EMCOR does everyday, the Company is working to further expand its role and expertise in the area of environmental stewardship, as well as its client service offerings in the area of high performance and sustainable design facilities.

A licensed Professional Engineer, Mr. Robertson has 25 years of electrical engineering and construction experience on large-scale commercial and industrial facilities.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
