---EMCOR Facilities Services’ Nationwide Projects Help Customers Reduce Costs And Increase Their Competitive Edge---
NORWALK, CONNECTICUT, September 12, 2006 – EMCOR Facilities Services (EFS), a subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE: EME), a Fortune 500® leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses globally, announced that it has been awarded several major new projects in both the public and private sectors. These projects involve the maintenance, upgrading, management and operation of “mission critical” facilities across the country and highlight EMCOR’s expertise in providing a wide range of high quality, consistent and reliable facilities services solutions.
“There is no doubt that there’s a high degree of expertise required to properly maintain and optimize today’s sophisticated facilities”, said Frank T. MacInnis, Chairman and CEO of EMCOR. “Because facilities are among the most significant assets and cost centers of virtually every organization, our customers continue to seek innovative ways to manage their facilities expenditures more effectively. By taking over responsibility for facilities management so our customers can concentrate on their core businesses, we are assisting them in gaining a competitive edge.”
EMCOR’s new facilities services projects include:
The World Bank (Washington, D.C.) – EFS has been awarded a five year (with four option years) contract to provide facilities management services for The World Bank’s 3.8 million square feet of space in Washington, D.C. As part of the project, EFS will manage a delivery team of over 200 experienced professionals, providing a solution that effectively streamlines the activities of various contracts by reducing by two-thirds the number of specialty contractors serving The World Bank. Core components of the Company’s streamlined approach include using cross-trained EFS personnel to assume significant portions of the scope of work, managing a select group of subcontractors through a standard EFS quality management program, and utilizing the technical capabilities of one of EMCOR’s local Washington-area subsidiaries to provide services to The World Bank’s life safety systems, emergency generators and chillers.
Lackland Air Force Base (Lackland, Texas) – Recognizing the leading edge capabilities of integrating facility management, engineering, and construction entities into asingle design/build team, the United States Air Force has awarded EFS a contract to provide system improvements, boiler replacement and upgrading of air-handling units to the United States Air Force Wilford Hall Medical Center located at Lackland AFB. One of EMCOR’s local subsidiaries is serving as the general contractor and will manage the modernization of these HVAC systems.
Stop and Shop Supermarkets – EFS will provide general maintenance services to 280 supermarkets in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut, under the terms of this 38-month contract award. General maintenance services will be supported by the deployment of 35 mobile technicians located across EMCOR’s local subsidiaries, with the goal of developing a predictive maintenance approach.
