Value Delivered

Tim guides the Facilities Knowledge Center’s (FKC) application implementation process to ensure that it effectively addresses the demanding challenges inherent in today’s facilities management environment.  He sets strategic goals and directions, coordinates efficient application integration, determines appropriate application balance, keeps content timely and accurate, and reviews new applications and upgrades prior to online implementation.  This important role enables EMCOR to share mission critical information when and where needed - to ensure rapid, effective response to facility needs.  The result is more efficient operations and maintenance, longer asset life, improved decision-making, and increased profitability.

Expertise

After earning his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Tim spent 6 ½ years in the United States Army, rising to the rank of captain. During this time, he developed his knowledge of the applications and systems involved in long-distance voice/data satellite communications.  At the same time, he learned to understand broader technology concepts and think about them more critically and from a business impact perspective.

Following his military tour of duty, Tim joined Johnson Controls, where he participated in the development of an integrated facilities management corporate website for deploying technical computer-aided and computer-integrated facility management data.  While implementing MRO’s MAXIMO, a computerized maintenance management system, for clients, he also realized that greater efficiencies could be gained by having a single -- rather than multiple -- system for multiple customers.  This led to the establishment of Johnson’s National Call Center, where Tim was applications manager.  In this position, he expanded the center’s applications to enable global coverage, while adding the usage volume generated by seven remote centers.  Eventually, he also oversaw the application transfer process from the original center to a larger one.

It’s a career that has helped him build a significant body of expertise.  By combining his ability to see each application’s specific function with an understanding of how all of them interact, he can integrate applications in ways that broaden their reach, increase their functionality, and provide greater value to clients. This is one of many ways in which EMCOR is able to deliver more efficient operations and maintenance, longer asset life, improved decision-making, and increased profitability.
