EMCOR Energy Services
Value Delivered
John is responsible for applying his expertise in engineering, design, retrofit and construction of power plants, job costing, manpower positioning, design reviews, quality assurance/control programs and labor force placement for EMCOR Energy Services client base.
Expertise
John brings over 25 years experience in design, construction management, fabrication, engineering and maintenance within the Cogeneration, Municipality, IPP and Forest Products industries. In addition, he has considerable expertise in ASME Code applications and compliance issues that he shares with clients and across the EMCOR enterprise.
Illustrative of his central plant capabilities, John was responsible for the design-build of a central utility plant and a combined heat and power facility to supply the water heating, space heating, cooling and electrical needs for a new casino complex in Cabazon, CA. The plant is composed of seven 2 MWe engine-generator sets, 3,600 tons of cooling and balance of plant (switchgear, tower, heat recovery systems, boilers, etc.).
Some of his cogeneration work includes responsibility for: the manufacture, fabrication and installation of wood fired cogeneration facilities; engineering and life assessment study of gas turbine systems; repairs and modifications to tube support and gas turbine systems; field engineering and installation of natural gas fired boiler plant on a ‘green’ field site; as well as the design and retrofit of boiler and superheater tubing on a 100 MW biomass fueled facility. John has expertise in ‘green building’ through his experience on several such projects.
As Director of Quality Control & Assurance at LFC Power Systems, John was responsible for all engineering and construction projects and associated programs in accordance with the requirements of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. In addition, he reviewed all engineering packages for compliance with the Quality Assurance requirements.
John holds several distinguished registrations including: National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors; Commissions in Oregon, Washington and Idaho; as well as a Certified Welding Inspector from the American Welding Society.
He has the following licenses: General Contractor – State of Oregon, C4 Boiler (RMI) – State of California, Oregon State Boiler and Pressure Vessel Class Four & Five, as well as Oregon State Boiler Installation License.
He is an active member in the American Welding Society, Transformer Maintenance Institute, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Unique in the industry, John is an NBIC/ASME “R” Stamp/Certificate Holder for the repair and alteration of boilers and pressure vessels.
