As President & Chief Executive Officer of Forest Electric Corp., Salvatore Caputo oversees the daily workings of a company that employs over 800 electricians and 200 office personnel in New York and New Jersey and has annual sales in excess of $200 million. Mr. Caputo has been with Forest since 1985 and during his tenure with the firm he has built strong relationships with clients, contractors, vendors and field personnel. Additionally, he has fostered the growth of the advancing technology and power solutions fields, emerging as a leader in the quest for innovation.

Expertise
Mr. Caputo's career in the electrical contracting industry actually began while he was still a student in high school. Starting with his sophomore year, he participated in an accelerated academic program whereby he completed the entire year in half the time and spent the remainder of the year working. By the time he graduated, he had worked in the electrical distribution business and as a Local #3 electrician helper and then as a Local#3 cable splicer for Manhattan Cable Television.

After college Mr. Caputo returned to the electrical industry and in 1981 he joined F&M Electric as an electrician and subsequently worked as an estimator and project manager. In 1983, Mr. Caputo joined New Jersey based Electric Distributors Inc. as an officer of the company and also started his own lighting design and distribution business, Professional Lighting Associates.

In 1985, Mr. Caputo joined Forest Electric as a project manager. He quickly rose through the ranks of the company and in 1992 was named Vice President of Project Management, with full responsibility for running Forest's project management department. In 1988, he was named Senior Vice President and a member of Forest's Executive Committee and a year later was elevated to Chief Operating Officer. In November 2006, he was named President and Chief Executive Officer of the firm.

Mr. Caputo's industry and academic accreditations include City University of New York, Baruch College, Executive Leadership Program Babson College. Certification from the Illuminated Engineering Society (IES), the GE Institute of Lighting Design, N.Y.C. Electric Code Compliance, Standards and Practices Safety and Quality Control certified, N.Y.C. Energy Conservation Task Force and a member of both NECA and NYECA. He has been published in most of the leading industry publications and his reputation is such that New York's premier building owners often seek his advice on projects. Mr. Caputo enjoys designing lighting projects and his designs won the 1998 Building Award from the Chamber of Commerce.

The Personal Side
Mr. Caputo is actively involved with a variety of philanthropic organizations. He is on the committee for the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC). He also supports the Foundation Fighting Blindness, the National Kidney Foundation, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, United Jewish Appeal (UJA), Israel Bonds and the Greater New York Councils, Boy Scouts of America.
