Expertise
Allen began his career in 1990 as a generalist with a regional accounting firm. Two years later, he became controller for a local mechanical contracting company, where he was in charge of the accounting and other financial functions. He joined Kilgust in 1999. Since then, he has continued to build his expertise in the general accounting practices of the construction industry.

Allen holds a bachelor's degree magna cum laude in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-WhiteWater. A licensed certified public accountant (CPA), he is president of the Madison chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association and a member of the Wisconsin Institute of CPA's.

The Personal Side
During his spare time, Allen participates in a full range of outdoor activities, including biking, hiking, canoeing and camping. He also enjoys photography, for which he does his own matting and framing.
