Single-point of contact planning and coordination with localized delivery of electrical contracting services at multiple locations across the country. Improved the client’s operational speed and timeliness, while increasing service responsiveness and efficiency.
SCOPE OF WORK
Dynalectric-Oregon was the pivotal contact between the client’s corporate headquarters and other EMCOR companies for providing electrical contracting at client sites in Kentucky and California.
For example, Dynalectric-Oregon designed, engineered, and estimated a voice and data systems project, which Dynalectric-Kentucky then supervised and installed at a new client regional distribution center in Robards, Kentucky. Toward the end of the project, the client also chose Dynalectric-Kentucky to handle a
substantial change order involving line and low-voltage services.
In addition, Dynalectric-Oregon worked with Dynalectric-San Francisco on voice/data system repairs at the client’s new
Mountain Hardwear acquisition.
BACKGROUND
Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributorship to one of the world’s largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of skiwear in the United States. Columbia’s extensive product line includes a wide variety of functional, innovative outerwear, sportswear, footwear and accessories that combine style and value.
OBJECTIVES
To construct a 450,000 square foot regional distribution facility to better serve outlets along the entire east coast; to improve communications between client headquarters and a new acquisition.
SOLUTIONS
The initial project involved a cross-country partnership between Dynalectric Company – Oregon, which had previously designed and installed voice and data systems for the client’s headquarters and local distribution facilities, and Dynalectric Company – Kentucky. In addition, the two companies worked together to secure Ortronics certification for Dynalectric- Kentucky, as required by the project.
