Value Delivered
Jim delivers the high-performance services clients need to manage, operate and maintain their facilities more efficiently and profitably. He helps estimate and transition new business, manages all new contracts and client renewals, and maintains metrics for budgets, client retention, safety, employee satisfaction and regional financial performance. He is also responsible for safety and labor management, and for providing feedback to senior executives on rollout of new processes and improvements to ongoing procedures. The result is the effective direction of operating policies, objectives and initiatives required to ensure consistent client value.
Expertise
Jim's expertise is built on 22 years of cross-industry experience in areas ranging from business development to operations management. It's a base that gives him the knowledge required to develop and manage new programs and services that drive cost savings and performance excellence for both EMCOR and its customers. Over the years, several factors have contributed to his success, including his industry expertise, detailed operational analyses, proactive management approach, and aggressive staff selection and development.
Jim began his career as an HVAC technician with Wang Laboratories. He later joined Caldor, Inc., the discount department store chain, where he managed multiple store renovations as well as new store construction. He then moved to Johnson Controls, Inc., an opportunity that broadened his experience and deepened his knowledge of how to manage buildings for maximum performance. During this time, he was primarily responsible for the award-winning John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse. One of his most significant honors came when President George W. Bush presented him with the Presidential Leadership in Energy Conservation Award for reducing the government's total energy costs over 14 percent, resulting in savings of $600,000.
Jim is licensed in Massachusetts as a refrigeration technician, sprinkler fitter and construction supervisor. In addition, he is a certified facility manager and a six sigma green belt, trained to identify and correct operating inefficiencies and business waste. To further increase his operational expertise, he has completed various other training and certification programs.
The Personal Side
Jim enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He is also an avid sportsman and a member of his town's planning board.
