Value Delivered
Mike and his team provide the responsiveness and expertise required to meet their government clients' most demanding expectations. Responsible for operational and financial performance of base operations support contracts, he directs proposal development, bid review and phase-in activities. He also oversees delivery of the services involved in these large multi-function facility operations contracts. While the contracts vary in scope, they typically consist of a full range of services, including transportation operations and maintenance, facility maintenance, family and transient housing operations, grounds maintenance, pest control, custodial services, security, and refuse and environmental services.
Expertise
Mike has 34 years of facility operations and maintenance experience. During that time, he served as director of operations for Kellogg Brown & Root Services, where he oversaw contracts in Guam, Iraq and Kuwait as well as those for several U.S. sites; vice president of Day & Zimmermann Services, where he managed 17 site support services contracts around the world; and general manager of the Diego Garcia base operations support contract in the British Indian Ocean Territory. This broad experience has helped him build the expertise needed to implement and continuously improve a risk-based approach to operating and maintaining site functions, while implementing best practices and assuring optimum safety and compliance.
In 1997, Mike completed a 28-year U.S. Marine Corps career. His final assignment was at Marine Corps headquarters, where he managed the corps' housing and facilities worldwide. His other assignments included command of a 2,500-man Marine Wing Support Group; assistant chief of staff logistics for a Marine Division; command of a forward deployed Marine Service Support Group; logistics staff officer at the U.S. European Command headquarters in Germany, and Director of Public Works for a major government industrial facility. His Marine Corps service began as a platoon leader and company commander in Vietnam.
Mike holds a bachelor's degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master's in engineering administration from George Washington University. He is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' officer advanced course, the U.S. Navy Command and Staff College, and the National Defense University's Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
