Value Delivered
Matt helps clients develop and execute comprehensive, results-oriented energy management programs that enable them to satisfy today's increasingly complex and demanding energy requirements. These programs involve accurate energy accounting, expert commissioning and retro-commissioning, efficient capital investment, identification and use of supply-side opportunities, and other energy cost cutting measures. He also assists with corporate energy strategy development and implementation, financial analysis, and data tracking and reporting. The result is more efficient and cost-effective energy usage, improved facility operations and a stronger bottom line.

Matt has 26 years' of energy and real estate management experience, over 24 of those with Verizon (formerly GTE). While overseeing a range of large-scale projects, he has built a solid base of expertise in corporate energy programs and building operations. This expertise includes the development and implementation of strategic energy plans, as well as operational and capital energy-efficiency initiatives. He is also a specialist in planning and deploying energy information systems and analyzing the data they provide. And he has created and implemented employee awareness programs that effectively engage employees in energy conservation and communicate the value of energy-saving efforts.

While in this position, his aggressive energy conservation program contributed more than $50 million in documented one-time and annual savings. He also initiated and managed a national program to identify, power down and remove unused network equipment, an effort projected to produce total annual energy savings of $20-to-$25 million. In addition, he was responsible for the start-up, ongoing operation and management of the GTE Telephone Operations World Headquarters, a 2.4-million-square-foot complex with 650,000 square feet of associated support buildings. For their work on this assignment, Matt's facility operations team won the "BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) Office Building of the Year" competition at the Dallas, regional and international levels.
