EMCOR Group, Inc. Recognizes Company-Wide Achievement At Annual Senior Management Conference

NORWALK, CONNECTICUT, November 6, 2007 - EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE: EME), a Fortune 500® leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses globally, recently recognized a number of its subsidiaries for their achievement of safety and service excellence.
EMCOR celebrated 60 Safety and Craftsman awards at its 2007 Management Conference in Dallas, Texas. The awards reflect industry and client recognition of EMCOR’s work as well as the Company’s continuing commitment to the safety goal of zero accidents and its dedication to providing industry-leading service to its clients.

EMCOR’s dedication to safety has long been an important strategic goal. One of the many platforms to accomplish this is the Company’s “Be There for Life” program, which educates Company employees on the importance of safety in the workplace and relates safety to important moments in life, such as being there for a child’s first steps or graduation.
Safety milestones recently achieved and/or received by EMCOR and its subsidiaries include:
- The entire Company worked 35 million more labor hours in 2006 than in 1999 without any increase in OSHA recordable accidents.
- The Company reduced overexertion type injuries by 32% over a 24-month period ending June 2007.
- Employees of Design Air have worked accident-free for more than 27 years on its Port of Seattle projects.
- EMCOR Facilities Services–UK worked 3 million labor hours without a reportable accident.
- University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors (UMEC) in Arizona has worked 2 million labor hours with no lost-time accidents and 1 million labor hours without a recordable injury. UMEC also received awards from: MCAA Safety Statistics Program (Safety Excellence Award for “Zero Lost Workday cases”); SMACNA (First Place for 500,000+ man-hours for safety excellence and statistics program); Arizona Subcontractors Association (“Company of the Year”, for safety performance).
- Shambaugh & Son received an MICCS Safety Achievement Award, as well as an MICCS Safety Leader Award.
- EMCOR Services Aircond was recognized by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America Safety Masters Club for outstanding commitment to safety in the workplace.
- EMCOR Services Fluidics was recognized by the General Building Contractors Association, receiving a Construction Safety Excellence Safety Award.
- EMCOR Services New England Mechanical was honored with an ABC Platinum Level STEP Award for Safety.
- The Poole and Kent Corporation received a MCAA Safety Statistics Program Award of Safety Excellence.
- Trautman & Shreve was recognized by the MCAA for Safety Excellence, with an incident rate below the 25% industry average. They also received the National AGC Construction Safety Excellence Award --- Specialty Contractor in the 750,000 – 1 million man-hours category.
In all, 26 EMCOR companies have been recognized by a number of sources externally as well as internally for their recent safety achievements. In addition, 18 companies earned a number of industry awards and citations for excellence in delivering facilities management, electrical and mechanical construction, and operations and repair services for clients across a wide range of job sites, market sectors, and geographies.
