Value Delivered

Chris oversees development of complete and timely estimates that give clients an accurate basis for making informed project decisions. Working with his team of four estimators, he reviews each project's plans and specifications, quantifies all components included in the scope of work, solicits bids from subcontractors and equipment providers, and prices the job. He then creates final estimates and reviews them with senior management. In addition, he maintains the customized proprietary data contained in the company's estimating database. The result is the kind of equitable project pricing required to ensure completed on-budget projects and long-term client relationships.

Expertise
After taking business courses at Gulf Coast Community College and Florida State, Chris went to boot camp as a corpsman in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He then became a project manager for Lloyd E. Mitchell, a local contractor. Following a brief stint at Riverside Hospital Nursing School, an interest prompted by his tour as a corpsman, he returned to Mitchell, later taking a manager/estimator position at Sullivan Mechanical. He joined Poole & Kent as a project manager in 1981. Three years later, he became chief estimator, a position he has held ever since.

LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) -accredited by the United States Green Building Council, Chris has also become an expert at translating conceptual plans and ideas into engineering drawings his team can use to prepare pricing. One of his most significant accomplishments has been the development and maintenance of an estimating database, which helped the company bid and win the $150-million Johns Hopkins Clinical Tower project, the largest the company had ever bid.

The Personal Side
Chris and his wife are the proud parents of three children, two girls and a boy. In addition to enjoying his family, he is an avid cyclist.
