Touching Lives

Touching Lives is a structural corporate citizenship program built for the long term. Some programs cut across our entire organization while others are conducted by individual operating companies or individual employees.

EMCOR Cross-Company Programs

Taking KidSafety to the StreetTM

In 2005, EMCOR launched Taking KidSafety to the Street,  a cross-company corporate initiative, involving three distinct parts, to help find missing children and promote child safety.

On the Streets

EMCOR's fleets of over 6,000 trucks and service vans move daily from 170 offices to 13,000 job sites throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. In the U.S, our fleet prominently displays the National Center for Missing Children's (NCMEC) posters of missing children. In Canada, we featured missing children posters provided by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and in the UK, our missing kids posters are provided by the UK Police National Missing Persons Bureau.

In Buildings

Over 2,000 facilities management personnel have been trained on Code Adam. This program was established in 1994 by Wal-Mart and has been a powerful search tool for lost and possibly abducted children in tens of thousands of buildings across the nation. Code Adam is activated when a child is first reported missing within a facility and prior to the arrival of law enforcement personnel. Employees who are trained in Code Adam procedures are able to respond quickly if an abduction occurs in their establishments.

At Home

We offer a KidSafety brochure on tips for keeping kids safe.

ACE Mentor Program

EMCOR is a national sponsor for the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) Mentoring Program. In addition to offerings scholarships for college education, EMCOR employees also volunteer their time and expertise to help mentor high school kids to understand and ultimately pursue career opportunities in architecture, construction and engineering and related areas of the design and construction industry. For more information about ACE, go to www.acementor.org.

Military Program

We have a strong commitment to reach out and touch those employees that protect the safety of our country. Our Military Personnel Program sends care packages several times a year to those that are deployed overseas. These boxes contain non-perishable food items, reading and writing materials, clothing and other useful items and are often shared with others in the unit.

EMCOR Operating Company Programs

Our operating companies are involved in local, community causes and educationally driven programs.

EMCOR Employees

EMCOR recognizes individual acts of bravery and community-minded spirit since 1998 through the EMCOR Diamond Award from the Chairman's Office. This special group of employees have shaped the lives of their community through their passion.
