Customer Case Studies

The Power of Knowledge

The University of New Hampshire Durham campus, with some 13,000 students, tapped EMCOR's energy intelligence to build, install, start up and operate a new 8 megawatt (expandable to 27 megawatts) cogeneration addition to its existing steam plant and regional chilled water plants. The client is also entrusting EMCOR with plant operations, campus maintenance, consulting, and construction management services. The university depends on the new facility to ensure reliability and flexibility to meet changing energy needs over time while meeting all applicable state, local and federal requirements.

Curative Power

Pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough needed saturated steam at desired operating conditions to augment the Kenilworth, N.J.-based 24/7 production plant's existing high pressure steam. Because of a demanding schedule, challenging logistics, and rigorous requirements, the client entrusted EES's energy intelligence for the design and construction of the new boiler house and ancillary equipment. The plant now has an additional 80,000 pounds of steam, with the potential for 160,000 pounds total as production needs increase.

Power to the People

When the city of San Carlos, California, needed a long-term cost-effective solution to power its 31,000 total square-foot General Services Buildings, it relied on energy intelligence from EES for project management, system design, equipment specification, permit and submittal assistance, equipment procurement, installer selection, and construction management. EES even upgraded the electrical system to accommodate photovoltaic power and handled performance testing and commissioning, saving the city more than $100,000 beyond the cost of construction, loans and financing, and development.
