NORWALK, CONNECTICUT, November 24, 2009 - EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE: EME), a Fortune 500® leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses, announced that as previously noted during its 10/20/09 Third Quarter Earnings Call, its University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors (UMEC) subsidiary has received a contract for the installation of mechanical systems for the new Maricopa County Court Tower in Phoenix, Arizona.
UMEC will be responsible for the installation of the mechanical systems, including HVAC equipment and piping, ductwork and control system, plumbing piping, fixtures and equipment within the 695,000 square foot, 16-story, 32-courtroom facility. The facility includes criminal court rooms, jury assembly, in-custody holding area, underground parking, secure judicial chambers, victims and witness waiting areas, media accommodations, high security entry and queuing.
UMEC will also be responsible for leading the BIM (Building Information Modeling) design work for the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and maximizing the benefits for design, construction, and facility operation. The Maricopa Court Tower will be built according to LEED specifications.
