Mechanical Construction Services
EMCOR received a mechanical construction services contract to install mechanical systems at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.
EMCOR replaced two indoor main air handler units in Robinson Hall, built in 1900 and one of the central buildings at Harvard University. Located within the basement mechanical area of Robinson Hall, the air handler units provide heat and air conditioning from the University's power plant steam and chilled water systems, along with fresh air for ventilation.
The mechanical construction services occurred in two phases, which allowed Robinson Hall -- that houses both the History Department and classrooms -- to remain open with at least 50 percent cooling or heating and ventilation during the entire construction project.
