Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Construction Services
EMCOR provided the entire commercial electrical and mechanical (M&E) infrastructure for the University of California San Diego (UCSD) Medical Center's new 128,000 square foot Sulpizio Family Cardiovascular Center, consisting of a new 4-story medical facility structure with two interstitial floors.
EMCOR provided all electrical systems for the facility including those for its fire alarm safety system, nurse call center, and security and telecommunications systems.
We also installed the commercial HVAC system, including air handlers that deliver over 200,000 cfm, and plumbing systems for the Sulpizio Family Cardiovascular Center.
The Cardiovascular Center includes patient care areas for UCSD's Thornton Hospital and will unifies its ambulatory, clinical and inpatient heart and stroke care.
The electrical & mechanical (M&E) construction services integrated more than 20 examination rooms, four cardiac catheterization labs, four cardiac-sized operating rooms, 24 intensive care and intermediate care beds, expanded imaging labs, enhanced clinical research facilities, and an expanded emergency department with a total of 18 private exam stations.
