EMCOR Group, Inc. Awarded Contract to Build Cogeneration Plant By Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative

NORWALK, CONNECTICUT, February 3, 2009 - EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE: EME), a Fortune 500® leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses, announced that its EMCOR Energy Services business has been awarded a contract for the design/build of a cogeneration plant in Susanville, California.

 

EMCOR Energy Services will be responsible for the design/build, including all engineering activities, equipment procurement, field construction and start-up, of this six mega-watt cogeneration plant that will contain two-three mega-watt reciprocating engines. The plant will be built on the grounds of the California Correctional Center, and will flow power directly to the grid, with the thermal energy being sold both to the California Correctional Center and the adjacent High Desert State Prison.
