EMCOR Group,Inc. Subsidiary Awarded Contract For Installation Of Electrical Systems At New Research Center At Wheaton College

NORWALK, CONNECTICUT, May 26, 2009 - EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE: EME), a Fortune 500® leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses, announced that its Gibson Electric & Technology Solutions subsidiary has received a contract for the installation of electrical systems as part of the construction of a new Science and Research Center at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.

Gibson will be responsible for the installation of all electrical systems required for the new four-story, 128,000 square foot Science and Research Center at Wheaton College. This facility will contain interactive exhibits in natural history and geology, a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Lab, and seven other teaching labs. The design will result in a challenging electrical installation that will follow the zoning of each lab---a challenge that Gibson will meet by utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM; a collaborative productivity tool that can get buildings built more efficiently) for coordination and planning with the other contractors involved in the project. Electrical service for the new Science and Research Center will be fed from existing facilities in connection with which Gibson will replace aged, medium voltage transformers and switches with new, state-of-the-art equipment.

There are a number of environmental benefits relating to the new facility, including energy recovery systems and a vegetated roof planned in the future. Additionally, the lighting control system has been specifically designed to curb energy consumption by using multifunction sensors and several energy efficient fixtures. The building is scheduled to open August of 2010, in time for Wheaton's Fall Semester.

"It's exciting to be a part of this sophisticated and progressive project," said Dan Fitzgibbons, President and CEO of Gibson. "The new facility at Wheaton College will long be helping to build the minds and skills of our young people---our future; and it's gratifying to be helping to build this important new cornerstone of our community."
