Just follow these simple steps to take our KidSafety Challenge.

I always check first with my parents or the person in charge before I go anywhere or get into a car, even with someone I know. |

I say no if someone tries to touch me or treat me in a way that makes me feel scared, uncomfortable, or confused. |

I always check first with my parents or a trusted adult before I accept anything from anyone, even from someone I know. |
 |
I know that I can tell my parents or a trusted adult if I feel scared, uncomfortable, or confused. |
 |
I always take a friend with me when I go places or play outside. |

It's OK to say no, and I know that there will always be someone who can help me. |
 |
I know my name, address, telephone number, and my parents' names. |
 |
I am strong, smart, and have the right to be safe. |

I will not give out personal information such as my address, telephone number, parents' work address/telephone number, or the name and location of my school without my parents’ permission. |

I will tell my parents right away if I come across any information that makes me feel uncomfortable. |

I will never agree to get together with someone I "meet" online without first checking with my parents. If my parents agree to the meeting, I will be sure that it is in a public place and bring my mother, father, or trusted adult along. |

I will never send a person my picture or anything else without first checking with my parents. |

I will not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make me feel uncomfortable. It is not my fault if I get a message like that. If I do, I will tell my parents right away so that they can contact the online service. |

I will talk with my parents so that we can set up rules for going online. We will decide upon the time of day that I can be online, the length of time I can be online, and appropriate areas for me to visit. I need to look for and be aware of where the emergency exits are. |

I know to dial 911 if I need to contact emergency personnel and I can explain to them where I am located. |

If I feel faint or nauseous inside a building, I know to tell my parents and get outside. I will remain outside until it is determined that the building is not making me ill. |

During a storm like a hurricane or tornado, I know to go to the lowest and most central part of the building and to stay away from windows and doors. |

|
|
During an earthquake, I know to get outside and away from the building. If I cannot get outside, then I need to crouch below a piece of strong, heavy furniture such as a table. |

|
|
|
If I find myself in an elevator with a stranger, I know to quickly push all the buttons so the elevator stops on the next available floor. When the doors open, I will run out and seek help from a person in authority. Provided by the EMCOR Quality & Safety department.
