Susan N. Masters

Vice President of Human Resources and Assistant General Counsel

Susan is responsible for leading EMCOR's overall human resources strategy. She collaborates with business and operations leaders to develop workplace policies and programs that advance EMCOR’s corporate objectives.

Susan also oversees our compensation and benefits programs.

She also provides legal advice and counsel that fosters positive employee relations, and labor and employment compliance.

Throughout her career, Susan has represented employers in a broad range of industries, providing legal counsel in nearly every area of employment and traditional labor law.

She is highly experienced in handling a wide variety of workplace issues including personnel policies, employee relations matters, employment agreements, collective bargaining and labor relations, leaves of absence, unemployment, and workplace health and safety.

Susan also is a trained workplace investigator, holding a certificate from the Association of Workplace Investigators.

Before joining EMCOR in 2018, Susan served as an attorney in the Employment, Labor, Immigration & Benefits practice group with the law firm of Robinson+Cole. Prior to that role, she was a Judicial Law Clerk with the Connecticut Appellate Court.

Susan holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law; a master’s degree from Teacher’s College, Columbia University; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Stony Brook University.

A contributing editor for The Developing Labor Law, Susan has also been a guest lecturer at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut.

Additionally, Susan is a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of Workplace Investigators.
