Anthony J. Guzzi Elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of EMCOR Group, Inc.

NORWALK, CONNECTICUT, June 6, 2018 - EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE: EME) today announced that its Board of Directors elected Anthony J. Guzzi, President and Chief Executive Officer of EMCOR, as Chairman of the Board.Mr. Guzzi succeeds Stephen W. Bershad, who due to the Company’s Director Retirement Policy did not stand for re-election at EMCOR’s Annual Meeting of Stockholders held on June 1, 2018.


“We are grateful to Steve for his long service to EMCOR.The Company and the Board of Directors have greatly benefited from his leadership and stewardship over the last 24 years,” stated Mr. Guzzi.


Mr. Guzzi, 54, has been President of EMCOR since October 2004 when he joined the Company, and Chief Executive Officer since January 3, 2011.He was elected to the Board on December 15, 2009.


EMCOR also announced the election of current Board member M. Kevin McEvoy as independent Lead Director for a one-year term.Mr. McEvoy, 67, has been a member of the Company’s Board of Directors since 2016.Mr. McEvoy served as the Chief Executive Officer of Oceaneering International, Inc. (NYSE: OII), a global oilfield provider of engineered services and products primarily to the offshore oil and gas industry, from 2011 until his retirement in 2017, and has served on Oceaneering’s Board of Directors since 2011.Mr. McEvoy has a broad knowledge of the engineering, construction, and oil and gas industries in which the Company operates.


Mr. Guzzi continued, “I look forward to working with Kevin, the other EMCOR directors, and the management team to continue to grow the Company and add value for our shareholders.”


Elected annually, the Lead Director has the following duties and responsibilities: presiding over all meetings of the Board at which the Chairman is not present, including executive sessions of the independent directors; calling meetings of the independent directors; serving as liaison between the Chairman and the independent directors; and performing such other duties as the Board may from time to time delegate to assist the Board in the fulfillment of its responsibilities.
