VERNON, CONNECTICUT -- September 27, 2018 –– EMCOR Services New England Mechanical partnered with the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute at The Hospital of Central Connecticut and the Mayor of New Britain to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. More than 250 people gathered at The Hospital of Central Connecticut New Britain campus to don EMCOR Pink Hard Hats and assemble to form EMCOR’s signature giant human Pink Hard Hat Ribbon, in a visible call to action launching Breast Cancer Awareness Month and EMCOR’s 10th Annual “Protect Yourself. Get Screened Today.” Campaign.
Dana Finnegan, President & CEO of EMCOR Services New England Mechanical, presented a Pink Hard Hat event plaque to Janette Edwards, vice president of operations at The Hospital of Central Connecticut and Erin Stewart, mayor of New Britain, both of whom spoke passionately in support of breast cancer awareness.
“This is EMCOR’s 10th consecutive year of spearheading the national Pink Hard Hat initiative. Over the years people have come forward to say they believe this unique way of communicating the importance of breast cancer awareness and screening has had a positive impact on their own lives or that of a loved one,” stated Dana Finnegan, President & CEO, EMCOR Services New England Mechanical. “Many of our employees wear hard hats on a daily basis for personal protection, and we’re proud of their commitment to wear an EMCOR Services New England Mechanical Pink Hard Hat in October to raise awareness for breast cancer, reminding women and men they can help protect themselves by getting screened.”

Generating awareness through events like these is critical to maintaining momentum in the fight against breast cancer.”
Throughout October, thousands of employees at more than 55 EMCOR subsidiaries across the U.S. are wearing EMCOR Pink Hard Hats at hundreds of work sites such as hospitals, infrastructure projects, shopping malls, manufacturing facilities, and oil refineries.
Millions more will be reached nationally in October as EMCOR’s U.S. fleet of more than 6,000 service vehicles display Pink Hard Hat posters with the “Protect Yourself. Get Screened Today.” campaign message.
