Communities for a Cause
EMCOR’s long history of corporate responsibility is built on a commitment to touch the lives of people in meaningful ways. In the communities in which we work, EMCOR companies believe in getting involved.
You’ll find our people engaging in a variety of charitable causes, community outreach programs, and other philanthropic activities in their local markets. Here are some examples of the work we do in our local communities.

Bahnson Inc. and three of its subsidiaries supported Wreaths Across America. In additional to a financial donation, their employees volunteered to lay the wreaths on graves of military veterans at two cemeteries for National Wreath Day.

EMCOR Services Betlem sponsored the Hillside Special Santa Program, a community partnership that collects gifts for thousands of children and families in their local area. Betlem delivered several boxes of toys collected from employees across their locations in Western New York.

DeBra-Kuempel sponsored a volunteer event for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Cincinnati. Volunteers helped out at the Neyer Outreach Center doing a variety of tasks, including assisting in the food pantry by sorting donations and stocking shelves, as well as weeding, planting, and mulching in the gardens.

Dynalectric Colorado was a Presenting Sponsor for the Portland Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, which helps fund the American Cancer Society’s research, patient support, and screening programs. Several Dynalectric employees formed a team called “Wired Walkers” to represent the company at the event.

EMCOR Services Scalise Industries raised money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh at their annual golf outing this year. The organization is a one-to-one youth mentoring agency serving at-risk children in Pennsylvania.

Team members from Gaston Electrical volunteered with Fisher House Boston at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center. They took time to cook dinner and serve meals to the local veteran community and their families.

Lyons & Pinner supported BEDS Plus Care, a nonprofit that delivers emergency services to the homeless population in Southwest Suburban Cook County, including overnight shelter, housing services, and homelessness prevention.

Marelich Mechanical supported Movember, an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues. Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world and helped transform the way health services reach and support men.

Southern Industrial Constructors held their 5th Annual Southern Invitational for Charity golf tournament, which raised more than $90,000 for two local charities: Whole Vet and The Green Chair Project. Whole Vet is an organization that guides active military members and their families through the first two years of transition into civilian life. The Green Chair Project reuses essential furnishings donated by the community to help neighbors in need.

For the fourth year in a row, the team at Tucker Mechanical collected pantry items for their local Meriden Soup Kitchen. The kitchen is one of the few places in Tucker’s community where those in need can dependably find a hot meal, serving up to 250 people every day.

University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. (CA) collected 88 books for the United Way of San Diego County's Read Across America drive. The books were distributed to free libraries, elementary schools, families, and other events in their community.

Trautman & Shreve spent a day volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, replacing soffit around the exterior perimeter of a house in the Park Hill area of Denver. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps people in communities across the world build or improve a place they can call home.

Intermech took part in the 13th Annual Bike Build for the UA Local 598 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union's Bikes to Tikes charity. For over 13 years, Bikes for Tikes and Local 598 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union have donated bicycles to community based organizations in the northwestern United States.
Intermech has donated to this event for many years, but this is the first year they put together a team to participate in the bike build.
